Rape is a word that has so much power, strength and weakness behind it. It is hard to believe that people can be inhumane to the point where they allow them selves to overpower, violate, hurt, abuse and RAPE. It is even harder to believe that the women who have been raped can convince themselves that it was their fault and they are to blame for the rapest’s savage behavior and actions.
On Thursday night a new hashtag began to trend on Twitter,                         #Been RapedNeverReported, this hashtag began from the tweets sent out by a writer named Antonia Zerbisias. This tweet was originally sent out to support actress Lucy DeCourtere, however it was a tweet dedicated to all rape victims who have found themselves in the traitorous silence. Others joined the tweezing frenzy by tweeting about their experiences, “I had already lost my childhood, my virginity and my self worth I was afraid, and I didn't want to lose any more. #BeenRapedNeverReported”(1)” Others including well known authors also tweeted to support the woman who have been victimized. “Reading the #BeenRapedNeverReported hashtag. It's hard reading. Makes me slightly ashamed to be human & much more ashamed to be male.”(1) Men also participated in making this hashtag trend by tweeting and expressing their feelings towards this terrible act against penalized women with just a few words of kindness and support. “I believe you. It's not your fault. You have options. I'm here for you. I stand with you. #BeenRapedNeverReported”(1)

It is not only important but it is ones duty to read and understand what terrible, tragic things are taking place in society. By educating and exposing oneself  to information like this one can learn the ways to stop other women from being victimized, penalized, abused, violated, dehumanized. RAPED.
